In Memory Of
"DCTom"

Friend, supporter and community member Thomas G. Graverson, known as "DCTom" by our discussion forum members, passed away on January 22, 2012. He was 80 years old. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. May Tom rest in peace.

Here at Yesterday's Tractors he was a very frequent poster in our Case discussion forum and contributed much to our community of antique Case tractor enthusiasts. We have also known him as a collector of Case tractors and was a very active participant in tractor pulls.

What follows is an excerpt of an obituatary published in his home town:

Thomas "Tom" G. Graverson, Sr., 80, of Bremen passed away January 22, 2012. He was born May 6, 1931 in Bremen to Theodore and Bernece McMannis Graverson. Tom married Marilyn Muncie Dalgarn in February of 1978; she preceded him in death on August 9, 2009.

Tom honorably served his Country in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Boxer. He was a Master Mason and past Master of Bremen post 414; a member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite. He was a member of the American Legion, past commander of the Bremen VFW and was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. Tom retired from Universal Bearing, where he was one of the first employees. He enjoyed farming and was a member of the Case collectors, owning several tractors that he rebuilt. He was an avid participant of the Antique Tractor Puller Association. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed.

He is survived by a three daughters, Cynthia (Steve) McKenzie of Plymouth, Lisa (Mike) Harrington of Bremen,Veronica (Gary) Pearce of Brazil, a son, Thomas G. Graverson, Jr., of Brazil, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, John Graverson of Bremen, Ted Graverson of Bremen and a sister, Maree Klopfenstein of Mishawaka. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marilyn, two sisters, one brother and a great-granddaughter, Norah Lynn McKenzie.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: 1929 McCormick-Deering 10-20 - by Randal Simmon. On July 4th 1998 my dad and I was sitting on the front porch when he said that he was going to sell his two 10-20's to a junk man. He said that the junk man was going to give him $500 for both of them but he hadn't received the money for them yet. So I went into the house and wrote him a check for $500 and bought them myself and said now they are mine. He had bought them about five years before thinking that he was going to restore them himself. After five years sitting in the barn, he changed h ... [Read Article]
